I have extensive experience and a diverse background in the field of psychology working across the lifespan, within prisons, schools and the community.  My multifaceted career and contributions to the field of forensic psychology have allowed me to expand my skills and experience in many areas, both in terms of my clinical work and my commitment to supporting others though consultation and mentorship.

Practitioner Psychologist (Forensic) with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC): I am registered with the HCPC which signifies my expertise and competence as a forensic psychologist, allowing me to practice within this specialised field.

Associate Fellow and Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS): I am a member of the BPS as an Associate Fellow and Chartered Psychologist which reflects my commitment to upholding high standards of ethical practice and expertise in psychology.

​

Experience in Prison Settings: My early career in prisons in England provided me with valuable experience in assessment and intervention. My role as a treatment manager for an accredited intervention programme aimed at addressing emotionally based violent offending allowed me to develop my leadership and clinical intervention skills.

​

Assessment of Risk for Parole Board Reviews: I have expertise in conducting risk assessments for Parole Board reviews, using structured professional judgment (SPJ) assessments and psychological formulation, this underscores my ability to evaluate and manage risk in a forensic context.

​

Democratic Therapeutic Community (DTC) Experience: I have worked within involvement in a Democratic Therapeutic Community, this highlights my understanding of therapeutic approaches within forensic settings. I have worked on both a Therapeutic Community Assessment Unit and also within a community where I supported n group therapy sessions.  This experience demonstrates my commitment to promoting rehabilitation and therapeutic interventions.

Work with Young People: I have worked with young people, within prison environments, residential care and independent school settings. This experience evidences my versatility as a practitioner and my dedication to understanding and addressing the specific needs of children and young people. My focus on exploring the meaning behind behaviour and considering the impact of early experiences aligns with a trauma-informed approach.  I have previously been a Designated Safeguarding Lead and I have undertaken advanced safeguarding courses.

Supervision of Forensic Psychologists in Training: I have significant experience in supervising Forensic Psychologists in Training on both the BPS Qualification in Forensic Psychology and the Forensic Psychology Practitioner Qualification.  This reflects my dedication to helping others advance their careers and gain the necessary qualifications and experience.

​

Advocacy for future psychologists: I have supported assistant psychologists and graduate practitioners extensively to allow individuals to develop their skills to support their Doctorate in Clinical Psychology applications, this demonstrates my commitment to mentoring and nurturing the next generation of professionals in the field.

​

Assessment Deputy for the BPS Qualification in Forensic Psychology: I am currently an Assessment Deputy for the BPS Qualification in Forensic Psychology and also have prior experience as an Assessor for over five years.  These appointments demonstrate my continued involvement in shaping the future of the field by evaluating and assessing the competence of aspiring forensic psychologists.
